BOMBANANA Windows, macOS, and Deck status
Full-game Steam specs after the 2 September 2026 launch — including the 8 GB Windows RAM floor the demo listing used to understate.
BOMBANANA! is a small Unity install with a large social requirement: three online clients that can all run the same build. Lefto Studio ships the paid game (app 4656000) for Windows and macOS. There is no Linux tab, no mobile SKU, and no console listing at launch. If one friend is on a phone, you do not have a trio.
Numbers below follow the full-game Steam page, not leftover demo copy. The demo (app 4747510) once listed 2 GB Windows RAM. The full listing asks for 8 GB minimum and 16 GB recommended on Windows. Quote the store you are buying from. If Steam changes a field after a patch, trust Steam, then check the patch notes page for whether this wiki has caught up.
Windows (64-bit)
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 / 11 64-bit | Windows 10 / 11 64-bit |
| CPU | Intel Core i3-6100 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200 | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 |
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| GPU | Intel HD Graphics 520 / AMD Radeon Vega 3 or equivalent | Intel Iris Xe / NVIDIA GTX 1050 / AMD RX 560 |
| Storage | 300 MB | 300 MB |
| Network | Broadband Internet connection | Broadband Internet connection |
| Audio | DirectX compatible | DirectX compatible |
Integrated graphics are enough for many laptops at minimum. Recommended names a 1050-class discrete card or Iris Xe. If the van stutters after the hand-painted art overhaul, drop the graphics preset before you blame Blind Monkey for slow cuts. CPU time still matters because three voice streams and a live bomb UI sit on the same frame.
300 MB is the Steam disk line. Leave more free so Windows and Steam can patch. A disk that is 300 MB from full is how verify-integrity loops fail on launch night.
macOS
macOS support arrived on the demo on 3 July 2026 and shipped with the full game on 2 September 2026.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | macOS 11.0 (Big Sur) or later | macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later |
| CPU | Apple M1 or Intel Core i3 (6th gen or later) | Apple M1 Pro / M2 or later, or Intel Core i5 (8th gen or later) |
| RAM | 4 GB | 8 GB |
| GPU | Apple M1 integrated GPU / Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 or equivalent | Apple M1 Pro / M2 or later, or Intel Core i5 (8th gen or later) |
| Storage | 600 MB | 600 MB |
| Network | Broadband Internet connection | Broadband Internet connection |
| Audio | Built-in audio support sufficient | Built-in audio support sufficient |
Mac storage is 600 MB, double the Windows line. Apple silicon and Intel Macs are both listed. A mixed trio (two Windows, one Mac) is a supported idea as long as every client is on the current Steam build. Confirm that in lobby setup before you argue about room codes.
Steam Deck and controllers
The Steam store field for Deck compatibility is Unknown (unverified) at launch. Lefto Studio’s launch news mentioned Steam Deck support in the same breath as full controller support, achievements, and colorblind options. Those two sentences can both be true: the studio may have intended Deck play, while Valve has not published a Verified or Playable rating yet.
Practical reading: controller binds exist; see controls. A Deck might run the Windows build through Proton or a native path later. Do not buy a Dock assuming a Verified badge. Open the live Steam store page and read the Deck block the morning you play. If it flips from Unknown, this page should follow — we will not pretend it already did.
Handheld sessions still need two other players on supported PCs or Decks. The bomb does not shrink to one screen.
Network, audio, and why three machines matter
Broadband is on the full-game Windows and macOS tables because the session is online. There is no documented local-only defusal. A hotel Wi-Fi that cannot keep three clients in one room will look like a “lobby bug” — historically the demo even shipped a 16 June 2026 hotfix for lobby join and voice delay. If one player is on a phone hotspot, test the room code before Campaign.
Audio is not optional flavor. In-game voice is role-restricted. Mute Monkey cannot use that channel to speak. Deaf Monkey cannot hear it. Blind Monkey can talk and hear but cannot see LEDs. DirectX-compatible (Windows) or built-in (Mac) audio is the store’s way of saying: plug in a mic and a way to hear before the timer. Many groups add Discord so Deaf can read text or watch Mute’s camera. That is a house rule. The game still requires working device permissions on Steam.
Colorblind modes (two of them) retint objects and UI. They are not a substitute for a GPU that cannot hold the workshop. Enable them in options, then still meet the table above.
Checklist before you invite people
- 64-bit Windows 10/11 or macOS 11+.
- RAM at or above the full-game line (8 GB Windows min, 4 GB macOS min).
- 300 MB (Windows) or 600 MB (macOS) free, plus patch headroom.
- Broadband that all three of you can share with voice.
- Mic check in the lobby, because role-restricted voice will not warn you as clearly as a Discord overlay.
- Same build on all three clients — patch notes explains how to verify Steam news rather than inventing a version number.
If a PC is under minimum, do not “try anyway” as the third seat. The other two monkeys cannot defuse alone. Buy time with Custom’s longer timer after you pass hardware, not before. Pair this page with the tools hub, the callout sheet, getting started, and the launch notes so nobody shows up still thinking the demo’s 2 GB RAM line is the law.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for three-player bomb runs.
What is the Windows RAM minimum for the full game?
8 GB, with 16 GB recommended. The older demo store line of 2 GB is not the full-game listing. Confirm on Steam before you host.
Does BOMBANANA run on macOS?
Yes. macOS 11.0+ at minimum (4 GB RAM, 600 MB disk), macOS 12 recommended. Demo macOS support arrived 3 July 2026; the full game launched with a Mac tab.
Is Steam Deck Verified?
No. The store currently lists Unknown. Launch news mentioned Deck support — check Steam for the live rating rather than trusting a screenshot.
Can we mix Windows and Mac in one lobby?
Yes, as long as all three clients are on the current Steam build and meet their OS table. Use lobby setup for room codes.
Why is broadband listed?
The game is exactly three-player online co-op. There is no solo offline defusal. See how to play with friends.
